Ahead of the 2023 Legislative and Presidential elections in Liberia, a Team of Lofa Lawmakers called “Team CDC – Lofa,” On April 20, 2023, entered the county to encourage citizens of theiconstituenciesss to participate in the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) exercises.
The team, in the process then had a preference of having meetings with some in Voinjama Radio Kimtoma, where 40 bags of the 200 bags of cement promised to be given for the reconstruction of the station’s facility was given; the Voinjama Multilateral High School where 50,000.00 LRD was given as a token of appreciation to the student’s Council Leadership for providing leadership; 200,000.00 LRD to the administration of the Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital for additional support of the smooth running of the hospital; and 50,000, but later 70,000.00 LRD to the Traditional Women for their blessings and support to the Weah led government.
When Senator Joseph K. Jallah was instructed to present the original 50,000.00 LRD as was arranged for the traditional women, he made a pronouncement of 100,000.00 LRD as a kola for blessings from the traditional women. At that moment, Hon. Moses Y. Kollie, Thomas Fallah, and other members of the team called him to order and said that the money was 50,000.00 LRD instead.
Senator Jallah went back to extend his apologies to traditional women with a fine of 20,000.00 LRD summing to the total of 70,000.00 LRD received by the women.
