Gbarnga: A five bedroom house belonging to the late Joko Bartikeh Kuyon during the weekend burned to ashes leaving residents homeless and several valuable properties damaged.

The incident which took place in Kuyon’s village reportedly occurred at about 4PM local time.

According to report, the cause of the fire outbreak is yet be established.

Speaking to newsman following the incident, two victims of the tragedy expressed regret over the occurrence thus-calling on the National Disaster Management Agency, local authorities as well as well-meaning citizens for assistance.

“We don’t know the cause of the fire, bu we are grateful that no one got injured during the fire. It was a blazing inferno and if someone had been inside, it could have been worse,” They said.

They named cement, plank, zinc, nails and other construction materials as some of the items needed for their damage home reconstructed during these difficult times.

The homeless inhabitants told this news outlet that all their belongings including mattresses, clothes and other essential items got destroyed during the incident.

Our reporter who visited the area said the entire facility burned down to ashes despite the intervention of the nearby community dwellers.

The victims are said to be sharing bed with their neighbors.
